Where the other books in this collection are loose-leaf binders, for this one Carl asked his son to bind art papers in a size of his specification into a book. The cover is a piece of pre-Columbian Central American art printed on fabric. Carl admired the indigenous art of the Americas, especially that of First Nations on the Canadian West coast.
This book was probably intended to be a collection of his designs, as he called them, fully worked out. What is known is that he considered these to be his most important work, the sort of thing that would speak to other artists. There are just eleven pages completed and three pages of pencil sketches. Of the pencil sketches, only the clearest and most expressive is included here.
Every page is about 22 cm x 28 cm. The designs are worked out in various media.
